Grilled Portobello Flank Steak Sandwiches -

These sandwiches are so meaty you won’t miss the meat!

  • 4 large Portobello Mushrooms, cut into 1 inch thick pieces
  • 1 Tsp. Steak Spice
  • 3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 onions, peeled and sliced into 1 inch rounds
  • 1 Baguette, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/2 tsp. each Salt and Pepper, or to taste


  1. Toss the Portobello pieces with the steak spice and 2 tbsp. of the olive oil and coat well.
  2. Toss the onion pieces with the remaining tbsp. of olive oil and salt and pepper.
  3. Place a grill pan over high heat. As soon as it is warm place the Portobello pieces and onions on it and cook for about 2 minutes per side. Remove from heat. (This can also be done on an outdoor grill)
  4. To assemble the sandwiches, toast the baguette halves. Spread the mushrooms and onions. Serve immediately. You can serve these sandwiches with Red pepper Mayo.
